About Artist

Ja’kai Giddins is an undergraduate senior at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he is pursuing a double major in Business and Art. His work sits at the intersection of creative expression and strategic thinking, shaped by both formal artistic training and an understanding of how art functions within professional and cultural spaces.

As an artist, Ja’kai has worked across multiple mediums including painting, inking, digital illustration, animation, and video editing. While his creative range is broad, his primary specialization is in charcoal and graphite. These traditional mediums allow him to explore depth, contrast, and realism with precision, emphasizing light, form, and emotional presence within each subject.

What initially drew Ja’kai toward art was storytelling. Writing, watching, and imagining stories inspired him to not only create narratives, but to visualize them. Through art, storytelling becomes tangible. Ideas move beyond abstraction and take form through intentional composition and detail. What made art endure for him was the freedom to experiment across mediums and techniques, discovering how light, color, scale, and material could shape meaning and perception. This exploration formed a lasting emotional connection to the creative process.

Ja’kai believes that while business often serves as the foundation of an organization, art is what drives its identity. This belief led him to build SwagPassion as a platform rather than operate solely under his own name. SwagPassion is not defined by a single artist. It is designed to elevate artists collectively while addressing the needs of clients who seek intentional, meaningful artwork. In a highly saturated creative industry, Ja’kai believes sustainability and growth are achieved more effectively through collaboration than through individual proprietorship.

Although SwagPassion’s long-term vision extends beyond one individual, its foundation begins with him. The early stages of the brand are shaped by his leadership, discipline, and creative standards. At the core of SwagPassion is the belief that clients deserve the same emotional fulfillment that artists experience while creating. Passion in the process, truth in the work, and value in the final result. These principles remain constant as the brand continues to grow.

Through his leadership, Ja’kai aims to guide future artists under SwagPassion toward developing their own creative identity, or “swag,” while remaining grounded in these core values.
